Archive Policy

STEPX (Sustainable Technology, Energy, and Policy Exchange) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published content.

Digital Preservation

  • All published articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to guarantee permanent identification and retrievability.
  • The journal uses trusted third-party digital archiving services (such as LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or PKP Preservation Network) to ensure perpetual access even in the event of system failure or journal discontinuation.

Self-Archiving by Authors

  • Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit their work in:
    • Institutional repositories
    • Subject repositories (e.g., arXiv, SSRN, ResearchGate)
    • Personal websites or professional networks
  • Both the submitted version (preprint) and the accepted version (postprint) may be archived. The published version (publisher’s PDF) may also be archived, provided that the journal is properly cited as the original source.

Open Access Commitment

  • All content published in STEPX is immediately and permanently available open access under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) License.
  • There are no embargo periods for archiving or accessing published works.

Journal Continuity

  • In the unlikely event that STEPX ceases publication, all previously published content will remain accessible via the journal’s archive, indexing databases, and preservation networks.
  • The publisher ensures that metadata and full-text articles remain discoverable through indexing services such as Scopus, DOAJ, and Google Scholar.
